On the other hand, methods like nicotine therapies and vaping are far more effective. In a recent study on 886 participants by the New England Journal of Medicine, it was found that the one-year abstinence rate in nicotine therapy group was 9.9%, whereas for vaping group it was much better at 18%.

It is evident that out of 100 smokers, only 5 are able to quit successfully using the cold turkey method, 10 are able to quit using nicotine therapies, and 18 are able to quit using vaping at the end of the year. Therefore, vaping is far more effective compared to the other two methods of quitting smoking.
