Dinner Lady Lemon Tart eJuice Review

Let’s start with the brand name, now i don’t know about you, but when i hear “Dinner Lady”, i think of those nostalgic school desserts we all used to look forward to!

Quite fitting really, seeing as the whole Dinner Lady range is full of delicious desserts!

Dinner Lady Lemon Tart Review

The one we would like to focus on today however, is their award-winning Lemon Tart!  Voted ‘juice of the year’ at the Vapouround Awards in 2018, lemon Tart is a sharp lemon curd, topped with a gooey meringue, all cradled by a thin pastry crust, that description coming straight from Dinner Lady themselves!

First impressions

Just looking at the bottle we can see it gives of a retro vibe, almost like it belongs in a 1950’s diner! It boasts a vibrant yellow colour, which really goes well with the lemon flavour and is sure to grab your attention, a great move seeing as most of us buy with our eyes before we even know the flavour profile.

It’s a glass bottle with a childproof cap that once open, reveals a glass dripper.

The labelling also fits with the vintage style, and the brand name and flavour is clearly, and stylishly displayed.

We can see it’s a 70/30 mix and on the back of the bottle, all of the appropriate markings and information are clearly visible, the expiry date, batch number, where it’s manufactured etc.

All round you could say it’s a simple yet effective, informative design.

Now let us get to the important parts!

Smell

Any vape enthusiast know it’s near impossible to fill your tank before having a little sniff of your new flavour!

So after breaking the seal, you will immediately detect that sharp lemon, not overpowering, but enough to tell you it’s the main component.

Soon enough you will start to notice that sweet, savoury crust coming through, you could say it kind of subsides the tang from the lemon.

These two flavours combined create a heavenly scent that really creates an image of a real lemon tart being under your nose and gives you an idea of how amazing the flavour will taste when you vape it!

Taste

Okay, so when tasting vape liquids, we like to break it down into 3 sections to furthermore detect each and every note incorporated in the flavour, especially with flavours that consist of more than one component.

The inhale

Upon first inhale, you’ll instantly catch that zesty lemon tang, it’s an intense enough flavour to make your mouth water, but it doesn’t have that lip puckering quality you’d expect from other lemon flavours. You can certainly tell it’s a dessert, with the perfect balance between sweet and tangy.

The middle

This is where you’ll notice the tangy lemon, soft, sugary meringue, and savoury pastry all get really acquainted with each other to create a warming, decadent flavour explosion, ensuring you don’t miss a single element of the flavour.

The sweetness of the warm, gooey meringue helps counteract the sourness and tang of the lemon, leaving you with a stabilized mix of the two`

Now of course that wholesome pastry must come in to play. The pastry is not as noticeable here as it was when doing the smell test, however, you will certainly pick up on a buttery, flaky taste that sneaks in and lingers in the background, creating a base flavour that lasts throughout.

The exhale and aftertaste

As you exhale, the delicate, sweet savoury flavours really come through and become more dominant, lingering on your tongue and leaving your pallet fully satisfied.

With the aftertaste it leaves, you don’t get that sugary, sickly vibe that some sweet vape liquids can give you. The corresponding flavours that make up the sweet, sour and savoury all counteract each other, so you’re getting equal parts of each component. So unlike other sweet flavours, Lemon Tart will keep you coming back for more without it becoming too much!

Cloud production

As we stated previously, Dinner Lady Lemon Tart is a 70/30 mix, so as you would expect, it gives your cloud production an adequate amount of density, although the clouds do disperse fairly quickly, so don’t expect to fill a room as you would with a max VG.
